Dr. M. Mohan Alva, the chairperson of Alva’s Health Centre (AHC) is of the same view. Alva's Health Centre/Hospital is the brainchild of Dr. M. Mohan Alva who has conceptualised the idea of providing quality healthcare treatment to the masses from all sections of the society.
He established this institution on May 31st, 1986 and since then the aim of AHC has only been to provide effective and affordable medical care and facilities to people in and around Moodbidri who otherwise had to travel a minimum of 40 kms to get basic medical treatments. AHC has been successfully justifying its role in the community.
From a small establishment, AHC is now a 200 bedded hospital/healthcare centre offering multidisciplinary services, thus achieving its prime purpose of promoting health care for the underprivileged in the community which is an important part of the vision of the founder.
AHC has well developed and well equipped departments which are manned by trained and diligent staff.
The hospital has a full fledged Physiotherapy and rehabilitation department for conditions from varying specialities like Orthopaedics, Musculoskeletal and Sports injury, Neurologic and psychosomatic disorders, Cardiopulmonary, Paediatric and Community based Rehabilitation.
Also attached is "Alva's fitness zone" which helps in obesity management, promoting health and wellness.
The hospital has a holistic centre for mental health, "Shubhadhama" with integration of Ayurveda, yoga and Naturopathy systems of medicines.

Alva's Health Centre/Hospital was established in the year 1986. From there on it has served greater service & better Facilities to the people of Moodbidri & the adjoining areas with authentic health centre/hospital. Since then it has been one of the Major Health care unit of the region .For greater service and better facilities the hospital was developed in 2015. To improve our services and to make our services available for a wide range of patients we are introducing a new scheme "Alva's Health Card". This Health card possesses a range of benefits like priorities, concessions for the holders such that they are able to maintain their health along with cure of diseases.
